Questions & Answers

What is Arweave and how does it work?

Arweave is a decentralized storage network designed for permanent data retention. Unlike traditional cloud storage, Arweave stores data across a distributed network of nodes. Once uploaded, data is replicated and maintained indefinitely by the network's economic incentives — there's no monthly fee or risk of deletion.

Is Litecissa really free?

Yes. Litecissa is completely free to use with no hidden fees or subscriptions. We cover the storage costs so you can focus on preserving your memories.

Will my photos be deleted if Litecissa shuts down?

No. Your encrypted photo data lives on the Arweave network, which is independent of Litecissa. Even if our service were to stop operating, your data would remain accessible on the decentralized network. You would need your recovery key to decrypt the files.

How does the encryption work?

Your photos are encrypted end-to-end using AES-256-GCM before leaving your device. The encryption key is derived from your recovery key, which only you possess. Neither Litecissa nor anyone else can view or decrypt your photos.

What does local-first mean?

All changes are written to your browser's local storage first, then synced to the cloud in the background. This means the app works even when you're offline, and you always have a local copy of your library metadata.
